The parents of Jonathan Nabwera Simiyu said they have not contacted their son since Saturday, September 28.

The 19-year-old went missing after being invited by a friend to a graduation party around the Utawala area.

"On Thursday, September 26, my son called his father and told him he wanted a laptop. He informed him that his friend had offered to sell him a laptop for KSh 15,000. The money was sent on the same day, but on Saturday, when he was going to pick up the laptop, we called his two phones, but they were off," Anne Namsonge, Simiyu's mum, disclosed.

Where was Simiyu last seen?

According to Citizen TV Kenya, Simuyu's friend Joash Wamnyokoli invited him to a graduation party in the Utawala neighbourhood.

After the party at a nearby entertainment joint, Eagles Business Center, Simiyu's parents called Wamnyokoli, who said the student had asked for directions to the washrooms.

"He asked me for the washroom directions, and I showed him. I headed to the exit door to wait for him. I called him with my cousin's phone, but he was not picking up despite the phone ringing. We have reported the matter to the police station, and we are waiting for further instructions," he heartbreakingly said.

Simiyu's family reacts to his disappearance

Simiyu's family has searched for the Kenyatta University (KU) student for days without success.

"His brothers are in tears. They have refused to eat. His father is admitted to the hospital because of high blood pressure following the disappearance of our son. We are praying that God will give us back our son and let him come home safe and with good health and sober mind," Namsonge said.

Nairobi college student goes missing after leaving hostels

In another story, Linah Wanjiru Mungai's family sought help locating their 23-year-old Information Technology (IT) daughter.

Wanjiru, a student at RTI College in South B, left the hostels on Wednesday, September 11 and disappeared.

She never made it to class, and efforts to reach her were futile as her phones were off.
