Generous Kenyans Raise KSh 138k for Loreto Kiambu Girl Who Wrote Moving Letter Asking For Help

A young girl identified as Mueni was sent home for school fees, and after thinking about it, she decided to approach Ndung'u Nyoro of Affecto organisation for help

In an elaborate letter, the young girl shared that ever since she joined Loreto Kiambu Girls High School, she had always been on the road going home for fees, and that affected her performance

The girl has a reason to be happy as Kenyans raised KSh 138,259 for her within three hours and decided that the surplus would go to educate her younger sister at Machakos Girls High School

Kind Kenyans have raised KSh 138,259 for a Loreto Kiambu Girls High School girl, who wrote a moving letter asking for help from Affecto founder Ndung'u Nyoro.

What did Mueni's letter reveal?

In a Facebook post, Nyoro shared he got an inbox of the letter from the girl early in the morning stating that she was missing out on Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) preparations because of KSh 108,518 fee balance.

"Yesterday evening, Mueni wrote a passionate letter to me and was requesting us to assist her in clearing the balance," said Nyoro.

"Mueni is an academically brilliant student who used to score As in her end-term examinations. However, her frequent trips in and out of school had a negative effect on her overall performance. She is, however, determined to finish strong," he added.

What will Mueni do with the balance?

Three hours after sharing her story, Kenyans swung into action and raised KSh 138,259. This is so much love; all the fee balance, a challenge she has walked with for four years, has been cleared within hours!

"God bless each one of you. You ask what will happen to the excess? Good question; Mueni has a younger sister, also academically gifted. She is in Form One at Machakos Girls High School and this balance will be transferred to her sister's account," shared Nyoro.

"We thought that would be a better way to handle the matter. And of course some pocket money for Mueni to keep her strong till end of November," he added.

If you wish to continue supporting. These are the details:

Pay Bill: 957923

Account: Mueni

M-Pesa: +254 113 995 257 (Alice Wangui) Affecto office line.

West Pokot girl helped to join KU

Meanwhile, Alpine Chepkorir, who was still at home after other students joined the university a month ago, is set to join KU after the matter was raised to KUCCPS and HELB.

Disability issues advocate Jonathan Metet shared that her HELB application had been placed in the wrong funding.

After a transfer under affirmative action, she will pursue her dream of a Bachelor of Education (Arts).
