NFL power rankings Week 7: Just how bad are the Jacksonville Jaguars?

It was all lined up for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fresh off their first win of the season, they made their annual trek to London for back-to-back games against teams with rookie quarterbacks. Take care of business in Week 6 against the Chicago Bears, and the path to a three-game win streak and return to AFC relevance was on the table for the Jaguars.

Instead, Jacksonville had its most uninspiring effort of the season in a 35-16 loss to the Bears that wasn?t even that close.

The Jaguars (1-5) will remain in London to face the New England Patriots (1-5) in Week 7, but the top storyline surrounding the team is the pending firing of head coach Doug Pederson. The third-year head coach claims he has the support of owner Shahid Khan, but this is the NFL. That support could change in the blink of an eye.

Players used the word ?quit? following Sunday?s dud against the Bears. With a point differential of minus-65, and the team struggling to get out of its own way with constant mistakes and penalties, the Jaguars are inspiring little confidence that they can salvage this 2024 season.

Here?s how NFL experts reacted to Jacksonville?s latest loss in Monday morning power rankings:

NFL Power Rankings Week 7: Jacksonville Jaguars

Iyer: ?Doug Pederson might have lost his team in London. Will he lose his job next? The Jaguars' offense has no identity, and the defense has just become awful everywhere.?

Wirth: ?Have mercy on the poor Brits and stop sending the Jags to London. This can't be good for diplomacy.?

Dewey: ?Jacksonville is now 1-5 and safety Andre Cisco accused his teammates of "a lot of quit" in Week 6. If Jacksonville loses to New England in Week 7, Doug Pederson may get fired.?

Johnson: ?It?s time for Doug Pederson to go. There are a myriad of issues with this Jacksonville Jaguars roster on both sides of the ball and Trevor Lawrence is part of the problem right now. With that said, Pederson has already thrown players under the bus this season and the thing that cost him his last job (loyalty to Press Taylor) is the same issue in Jacksonville. Pederson seems like a loyal friend, but he?s not an NFL head coach.?

Lou Scataglia, NFL Spin Zone: No. 32 (down 3 spots)

Scataglia: ?There are almost no words for just how bad the Jacksonville Jaguars are. They got blown out in London in Week 6 and actually play next week in London as well. It's an odd situation for the team to be in, as it's clear that Doug Pederson has not only lost the locker room, but is probably also done as a coach in the NFL if you ask me. Are the Jaguars going to have enough oomph in that front office to make a head coaching chance while across the pond? It's desperately needed. This team is way too talented to be 1-5. But they are, and major changes are surely on the horizon.?

Consensus ranking: No. 30 (down 2 spots)
