Siaya -Police in Gem Wagai sub-county have launched an investigation following the death of a 78-year-old man.
Citizen Digital reported that Bartholomew Obita Odera's body was discovered in a murram quarry in the Wagwer area of the Ulamba sub-location.
Shocked villagers raised the alarm after discovering the elderly man's naked body on Monday, October 14.
Officers from Wagai Police Station visited the scene and have already launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding Odera's death.
Area Assistant Chief Fredrick Warinda confirmed the incident, adding the man is believed to have been murdered elsewhere and his body dumped in the quarry.
The body has since been transported to the Siaya County Referral Hospital mortuary for preservation, awaiting postmortem.

In another sad news, a family from Ngorika, Nyandarua county, was thrown into mourning following the death of their seven-year-old son, who went missing on October 9.
Brian Gitau Kamau, a special learner with a disability, was reported missing after he failed to return home from Ngorika Special School.
In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, his father, Charles Kamau Waweru, shared that their four-year-old daughter alerted them to Brian's disappearance after she did not see him on the way home.
Tragically, officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations probing the case discovered Gitau?s body in a well in the Wiyumiririe area not far from his school.
The officers did not clarify how he fell into the well but assured the family that a postmortem would be conducted to determine the cause of death.
