NFL picks, predictions Week 7: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York Jets

Fresh off a win in Week 6, the Pittsburgh Steelers will return home in Week 7 for a primetime matchup against the New York Jets at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday night.

The Steelers had the perfect get-right opponent to snap their losing streak, as the Las Vegas Raiders looked as lost as we expected them to. Pittsburgh took full advantage of the Raiders' mistakes en route to an easy 32-12 win.

Meanwhile, the Jets squandered several opportunities to come away with a win on Monday night against the Buffalo Bills, with multiple missed field goals and failed red-zone trips. Ultimately, the Bills came away with a 23-20 win.

The Steelers started Justin Fields again in Week 6, even though Russell Wilson was healthy enough to play. It remains to be seen if Week 7 will be the game Pittsburgh goes back to its original starter, but it's possible after Fields has been good but not great on the way to the Steelers starting out 4-2.

Now, a look at the picks and predictions from experts for the Week 7 game between the Jets and Steelers.

NFL picks, predictions Week 7: Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York Jets

Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: Steelers 20, Jets 17

Iyer: "The Steelers' defense had a get-well game with T.J. Watt leading the way in Las Vegas. They'll come home to chase a jackpot with Watt flying off the edge on Aaron Rodgers. The Steelers can't pass on the Jets, but they won't mind embracing another run-heavy game plan with Justin Fields and Najee Harris."

Bill Bender, Sporting News: Steelers 23, Jets 17

Bender: "The Jets are coming off another short week, and the new-look coaching staff faces a challenge at Pittsburgh. Aaron Rodgers led the Packers to a victory against the Steelers in Super Bowl XLV, but he only started one game at Acrisure Stadium. The Steelers have forced three turnovers the past two weeks, and the run game has picked up around Najee Harris."

Jeremy Cluff, Arizona Republic: Steelers 20, Jets 17

Cluff: "The Steelers rushed for 183 yards in Week 6. The Jets will struggle to contain Najee Harris and Justin Fields on the ground."

Matt Johnson, Sportsnaut: Steelers 13, Jets 10

Johnson: "If you?re noticing a trend with our NFL Week 7 predictions, there are quite a few low-scoring games. Two of the best defenses in football go head-to-head on Sunday Night Football in a slugfest that probably won?t have many highlights. Aaron Rodgers (74.5 QB rating) has been very bad when pressured this season and that is one thing T.J. Watt and Co. will do in Week 7. New York should keep it close because of its stout defense causing issues for Justin Fields, but the better defense and the more well-coached team pulls out the win."

Ben Rolfe, Pro Football Network: Steelers 20, Jets 17

Rolfe: "This should be a defensive battle, and the line is set adequately for that. Right now, there is no play here. Once the dust settles on Monday Night Football, maybe there will be an angle to attack this game better. For now, I will project a Steelers? win for Pick ?Em contests, but this is a toss-up."
