In late 2023, netizens condemned people, especially those hailing from the western part of the country, for building huge mansions they hardly lived in.

According to social media users, they referred to those posh village homes as dead capital as they were only inhabited on specific days of the year.

However, Gidi, while showing off the huge white-and-grey-themed mansion, blasted those who are fond of looking down on visionaries like him and his friend.

He said:

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are not in California; we are in Bondo. Sakwa, Bondo, where Raila comes from and we do not feel anything. We live whether you exist or not. You disrespect us so much. So very much, this is the lake."

A Kikuyu man hilariously jabbed at his fellow Kikuyu people, noting that they have built houses in their rural homes, but they do not come close to what the Luo people have showcased.
