Lilian Nyambura Mbugua was last seen at her home on Monday, December 23, around 10am.

Why did Lilian Nyambura leave her home?

Speaking exclusively to TUKO.co.ke, her mother stated that Nyambura left the house without any clear reason or prior indication of plans.

"She went missing on Monday, December 23, at around 10am. There were no issues or any problems. She just went," her mother said, visibly heartbroken over the sudden disappearance.

She was last seen wearing a red dress, a sky-blue sweater, and a white and black headscarf.

Her family has called on Kenyans who may have information regarding her whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.

This incident comes amidst rising cases of abductions across the country. Since June 2024, the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights stated that at least 29 people have gone missing, intensifying safety concerns.

KHRC has urged the police to clarify the status of those who have been detained under suspicion of abduction and to present them in court to face charges.

A growing number of Kenyans and local leaders have voiced their frustration, demanding the immediate and unconditional release of those who have been abducted.

The youths have also threatened to take to the streets once more, with protests scheduled for Monday, December 30, to protest the surge in abductions and call for stronger action from authorities.
