During an interview with NTV, the couple opened up on their first meeting. Her husband revealed that he did not know that she was a great runner.
Peter had contemplated asking her to quit but let her carry on with her passion.
?Surprisingly when I met her I didn?t know she runs that good. That?s the funny thing. I wanted to tell her to quit but she surprised us and I told her carry on this is yours until recently when she brought gold.
Chebet also admitted that she wasn't a great runner.
"We met when I wasn?t running that well. It was a journey. The process of accepting someone or something is usually long."
Her husband pampered her with love, saying that she was an awesome wife.
"She is an amazing wife, and I see a lot of people comment about her, but people don?t really know her. Sometimes, people make some judgments when they don?t know someone. I?m lucky, no, I?m blessed to have her. She?s not just a great athlete but a great wife. She?s amazing she?s able to express herself. She always expresses herself in the best way possible. She?s good as a wife. She likes music, and she dances a lot. Nowadays, I?m the cameraman."
