How many soldiers perished alongside Ogolla?

In 2024, CDF Francis Ogolla was travelling in a military chopper with 11 others when the helicopter crashed in Kaben, the border between Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot counties, killing nine people with two survivors.

Brigadier Swale Saidi, Colonel Duncan Keittany, Lieutenant Colonel David Sawe, Major George Benson Magondu, Captain Sora Mohamed, Captain Hillary Litali, Senior Sergeant John Kinyua Mureithi, Sergeant Cliphonce Omondi, and Sergeant Rose Nyawira perished beside Ogolla.

At the time, reports indicated that Mogire was in the hospital receiving treatment.

Nearly a year later, he was spotted back at work, and Kenyans wondered how life had changed for the young photographer.

He witnessed a life-changing moment that would forever linger in his memories, thanking the heavens for sparing his life.

Kenyans react to Mogire's photo

Here is what they had to say:

Enock Omariba Moriasi:

"Good to see Mogire."

Kibet Gideon:

"Ogolla crash survivor back to his duties."

Anne Caren:

"May you live long bro."

Mosee Mosee:

"God of another chance this is Mogire who survived a plane crash."

Marlon Odida

"Good to see you back Frank."

Phyllis Jeremy:

"Another doing of the Lord, another reason to be thankful to Almighty God as a nation."

Jessy Mbithe:

"Can he tell us what happened that fateful day."

What was in Francis Ogolla's will?

In other news, Kenyans got the contents of Ogolla's will, which left out his relatives and only wished them good luck.

He had directed how his properties would be distributed in a will he drafted in 2012.

Ogolla's will stated that his widow, Aileen, would be entitled to 50% of his estate, and the remaining 50% would be shared between his son and daughter, Joel and Lorna.

Joel would also take over his father's personal belongings and artefacts.

Lorna received her paternal grandmother's Bible.
