Why was preacher?s dressing criticised?

Gogo Skhotheni, a DJ and reality TV star, previously worked as a revered traditional healer but recently took to the pulpit.

The South African renounced the ancestral practice and instead opted to preach. Gogo is divisive and previously admitted to undergoing a tummy tuck in Turkey. At one time, she said she suggested to her husband that he should allow her to get a second husband, which he promptly refused.

In a video doing the rounds on social media, Gogo is seen wearing a white, maxi dress while at the pulpit. She also donned a head wrap.

The congregation was made up of women in blue outfits and white headwraps.

Gogo's dress hugged her figure, showcasing her ample curves. She walked back and forth on the pulpit before leading the church in song.

Many social media users criticised the dress code, saying it was inappropriate for the church.

Others accused her of playing around with the church in a bid to make money. Here are some of the reactions:

sthe_the_xtraterrestrial:

?This world is so cooked it's not even funny anymore.?

aria.ri4686:

?Why isn?t she dressed like all the other church folks??

dream_collexion:

?The love of money will send you up and down!?

Mmasiba:

?Temptation, concentration.?

Akerelemide:

?God is behind her.?

lelo_hans01:

?She is playing with fire.?

tony_moreno77:

?She?s not a preacher. And while we?re here, let's look at 1 Timothy 2:9: ?In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel? That includes no fitted clothing, where the congregation is checking your cake instead of focusing on the word. Church is a place of holiness. This is out of order and indecent. It's of the devil. I said what I said. She and anyone can take it up with God.?

Does Pastor Ng'ang'a slap congregants?

Closer home, Pastor James Ng'ang'a of Neno Evangelism Centre came under fire after a video showed him slapping a man who had dozed off during a service. Ng'ang'a claimed to dislike drama, only to cause a commotion shortly after. He spotted a sleeping man in the front row, walked over without warning, and struck him awake, leaving many viewers outraged by his actions.

It was not the first time he made headlines for such behaviour. A resurfaced clip shows him similarly hitting a woman who was asleep during what appeared to be an overnight church gathering.

Dressed in pink, the woman appeared shocked and in discomfort as others in the church laughed.
