The governor met Albert?s father, Meshack Ojwang?, his mother, Eucabeth Ojwang, his wife, Nevnine Onyango, and their son, George Myles Omondi, at his office in City Hall.

He noted that Albert was one of his key influencers and regularly collaborated with his media team, and for that reason, he would do everything possible to support the bereaved family.

?I have known Albert for a long time. If you go through his Facebook and Twitter, you?ll see he was a personal influencer. We will walk with his family on this journey,? he said.

What did Sakaja promise lbert Ojwang?s son and widow?

The governor stated that he would cover all burial expenses, sponsor the education of Albert?s three-year-old son, and settle the outstanding college fees for Albert?s widow, who is currently pursuing a course in community health.

?This is important as we call for justice for this young man. I am pleased that Kenyans have come together to support the family and are contributing through a Paybill. The family has proposed that all those contributions be channelled into a Money Market Fund to secure the child?s future, rather than being spent solely on the funeral,? he noted.

In addition, Sakaja pledged to help Nevnine secure a job with the county once she completes her studies as a health worker, adding that she is currently in her final semester.

Sakaja commits to building rental units for Albert Ojwang?s parents

While expressing deep regret over Albert?s death, the governor also committed to rallying his friends to purchase a plot of land in Homa Bay and build rental units for Albert?s parents, to help them earn a sustainable income.

?We want justice for Albert, true justice. Little George is too young to understand what has happened. He will never see his father again. We cannot continue like this as a country. May my friend Albert rest in peace,? Sakaja added.
