In a statement issued on Wednesday, June 11, Kiborek expressed outrage over Ojwang?s death, saying the circumstances surrounding it point to more than just police brutality.

How is Ojwang's murder a plot against Ruto

The MP who's never shied from courting controversy stated that everything suggests a deliberate internal sabotage.

"While I am not a security expert, the circumstances surrounding his death strongly suggest a classic case of internal or well-orchestrated sabotage, either targeting the government itself or the officer who had the courage to formally raise a complaint," Kiborek said.

Kiborek joined the country in consoling Ojwang's family even as the probe into the heinous murder gathered pace.

"We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Ojwang during this profoundly difficult time. May he rest in peace," the lawmaker stated.

The legislator poked holes into circumstances leading to the professional teacher's demise, suggesting that the killing was a provocation aimed at undermining state credibility.

"One cannot file a report, put it on record, and then be eliminated; even an amateur wouldn?t execute such a blatant move," he argued.

What were Ojwang's final moments

His remarks come in the wake of growing national uproar over the death of Ojwang?, who was arrested from his home in Kokwanyo Village, Homa Bay county and declared dead barely 48 hours later while in police custody.

Ojwang? was reportedly having lunch under the trees with his wife and child when three motorcycles arrived.

Men in civilian clothing, some of them later identified as police officers, picked him up and rode off to Mawego Police Station. That was the last time his family saw him alive.

According to the family spokesperson, Joseph Okumu, the officers included two known names: Bwana Sigei and Bwana Rapudo.

At around 3pm, Ojwang? was reportedly bundled into a Subaru with four DCI officers, two in the front, two in the back, with Ojwang? in the middle and taken to Nairobi.

When Ojwang was eventually booked at Nairobi Central Police Station at 9:35pm on Saturday, June 7, he was already gravely injured.

Under OB number 137/7/6/2025, the word ?sick? appeared next to his name, with reports suggesting he was bleeding, with injuries visible.

By 1:39am on Sunday, June 8, the young blogger was declared dead on arrival at Mbagathi Hospital.

How did Ojwang' die

Earlier, police reports claimed he had hit his head on a wall inside a cell and succumbed to the injuries.

But that narrative crumbled after a government pathologist ruled out the possibility of self-inflicted harm, pointing instead to signs of torture and assault.

Government pathologist Bernard Midia, who performed the post-mortem, revealed signs of torture and blunt force trauma inconsistent with police claims that Ojwang? had hit his head on a wall.
