A section of Isiolo County MCAs officially launched a motion to remove the embattled governor from office, accusing him of gross incompetence and a complete betrayal of public trust.

The move drew the backing of influential businessman Mwenda Thuranira, who welcomed it as the beginning of long-overdue change in the county.

In a strongly-worded statement posted on his official Facebook page, Thuranira, a vocal critic of the county leadership, praised the MCAs for uniting behind the impeachment motion.

?A few weeks ago, I told you that the governor had committed an unforgivable sin against the people who entrusted him with leadership,? Thuranira wrote. ?Today, I am proud to say the journey to keep that promise has begun.?

He claimed the governor?s leadership style was rooted in arrogance and impunity, accusing him of ignoring the voices of ordinary citizens and treating the county as if it were his personal property.

?His failed leadership and shocking levels of incompetence have brought our great county to its knees,? Thuranira declared. ?We watched as critical services crumbled, opportunities vanished, and hope slowly died in the hearts of our youth.?

Thuranira said conditions in Isiolo had worsened to the point of despair, with many residents feeling abandoned and hopeless.

He argued that the MCAs? united front was not merely political, it was a collective response to years of frustration from the people they represent.

?Let it be known that this governor was a gross political mistake, one that we, the people of Isiolo, will ensure is never repeated again,? he added.

According to him, the impeachment motion represents more than just political theatre, it is a victory for ordinary residents, especially those who have suffered under what he termed ?a broken regime.?

?We stand with the people who have suffered greatly under this regime. This is your victory, your voice, your power at work. The road ahead is long, but together, we will rebuild, and Isiolo will rise again," he stated.

What did Thuranira tell Isiolo governor?

This come following an earlier warning by Thuranira, who had accused the governor of failing the very people who elected him.

Thuranira said the governor?s leadership had shown "unforgivable incompetence" during a time when floods had devastated homes and displaced residents, yet the county government remained inactive.

He faulted the administration for abandoning flood victims without food, shelter, or medical care, while emergency funds remained untouched.

Thuranira further accused Guyo of neglecting damaged infrastructure and playing politics instead of leading a proper emergency response.
