During his recent tour of the Ukambani region, Deputy President Kithure Kindiki hinted at plans to woo Kalonzo to President William Ruto's broad-based government.

The deputy president alluded to the fact that there is no enmity between him and Kalonzo, adding that he respects the Wiper leader as his senior in the law profession and as a leader.

Will Kalonzo back William Ruto in 2027?

However, Kalonzo dismissed the attempts by the government to woo him, arguing that they are only meant to divide the opposition.

While citing the killing of Gen Z during the 2024 Finance Bill protests, Kalonzo ruled out working with Ruto.

"This is all diversionary, and poor attempt to divide The United Opposition. I cannot work with or meet up with people with Gen Z blood on their hands, including that of Albert Ojwang. Kenyans know the truth Mr HalfTam: I will always be on the side of the people," Kalonzo said.

Speaking at The Salvation Army Church in Karen on Sunday, June 15, Kalonzo challenged Kindiki to first apologise for the deaths witnessed during his tenure as the Interior Cabinet Secretary before attempting to woo him.

"You (Kindiki) should have apologised to Kenyans because you were the Interior Minister when Gen Zs were killed. Let's start there. Then also apologise for Ojwang's killing because you are the deputy president," he added.

Kalonzo insisted that he can only work with former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua to unseat Ruto in 2027.

He claimed the Kenya Kwanza Alliance leader is worried because he (Kalonzo) is a strong candidate ahead of the next poll.

"I will work with the truthful man called Gachagua. I don't believe this broad-based government is anything to follow. It is blood-based, and the latest addition is Albert Ojwang. Stop using my name. Even Ruto knows that if there is a tough opponent who will face him in the ballot in the next election, it is Kalonzo Musyoka. We will not relent, surrender, be bribed or be coerced," the Wiper leader stated.

Did Kalonzo meet Ruto at State House?

Earlier, the Wiper leader dismissed reports of his alleged meeting with the Kenya Kwanza Alliance leader.

On Wednesday, March 12, social media platforms were buzzing with reports of the opposition leader meeting the head of state at State House, Nairobi.

However, the former vice president was quick to debunk the assertions, revealing that it was propaganda.
