Taking to TikTok, a grieving Atommy shared his deep sense of loss, revealing that Princess Jully played a pivotal role in his life.

He recounted how she rescued him from a difficult life on the streets of Homa Bay following the death of his parents, taking him under her wing and nurturing his talent.

"She picked me when I was a street boy in Homa Bay after the death of my parents and mentored me to become a musician. This was after the release of her hit song, Dunia Mbaya. She was a mother figure to me, and now I feel like I have been made an orphan again. Such is life. We will all go that way, and her time has come. I would like to announce to my fans that I have lost my mother. She made me who I am today. May you rest in peace," Atommy said in the emotional video.

Her hit song "Dunia Mbaya" became an instant sensation, raising awareness about HIV and making her a significant voice in the music industry.

The song?s success earned the band national recognition when they won the KBC's Benga Music Extravaganza Competition in 1997.

Six years later, in 2003, she was honoured with the Kisima Music Awards' Benga Artiste of the Year title.
