In September, the Kiswahili news anchor announced the heartbreaking news of her mother's death.
Mashirima admitted that she was heartbroken, and Kenyans sent her an overwhelming number of condolence messages.
Her mum was laid to rest in Kilifi on October 10 with their family and friends.
Photos from the funeral service painted a picture of the sombre mood that engulfed the day.
Her colleagues from Citizen TV attended the funeral service, and they gave a touching tribute at the funeral led by their boss, Linus Kaikai.
Among those present were Rashid Abdalla, Jamila Mohamed, Trevor Ombija, Yvonne Okwara, Nimrod Taabu, Stephen Letoo and Sam Gituku.
"Dr Kapombe and your family, in front of you is a big team from Royal Media Services, where Mashirima works. Our condolences from SK Macharia, Mrs Macharia. We are proud of you. This is the day we will celerate mama ecause she got to the point where human power hit its end. So we give our condolences."
In a video that has gone viral, the Citizen TV colleagues were spotted in Mashirima's home having a chat with her.
Rashid was seen seated next to her, relaxing as Mashirima had some lunch. Okwara, Trevor and Gituku were on another couch.
Mashirima's family home looked lovely from the video and Kenyans showered the team with praise for standing with her.
