Billy Mwangi was found alive on January 6, 2025, after going missing for 15 days, in a story that got the entire nation talking.

The 25-year-old blogger was baptised by fire, and he now wants to run for a political seat.

He announced his bid for the Embu County senatorial seat in the 2027 General Election.

He also endorsed former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua for the presidency and expressed confidence in him.

Mwangi urged Gachagua to support his political ambition.

"I'm the young man who was abducted. Life during my abduction was hard. We were beaten and deprived of food. We slept bare for 17 days, and as Gen Z, we need the next government to listen to young men. I believe with Riggy G, he will drive us in that direction. As a Gen Z, I'm fighting for Gen Zs in the county. I'm requesting Riggy G to support me," he said.

Mwangi revealed he is jobless and asked the opposition politicians to offer him a job.

"I'm jobless because of the abduction. I'm appealing to those leaders of good governance, offer us jobs. I can also work for the legal deputy president (Rigathi Gachagua). And also for my MP Mukunji. This MP has stood with me," he said.
