Sniper's Burial Postponed Again to Unknown Date: "Land Was Sold"

Why was Sniper's body preserved for over year?
Initially, the family had planned to lay him to rest on December 13, 2024, a year since his tragic abduction and murder.
Five suspects have since been charged in connection with Sniper's death, but local leaders continued to demand the arrest of those who orchestrated the heinous act. Sniper?s family and the Meru community vowed to keep fighting for justice, urging well-wishers to stand with them even as the burial proceeds.
His remains, which had been preserved for months as the family sought justice, were supposed to be buried following prayers at Maili Tatu Stadium and his home in Kabuitu.
Why can't sniper be buried on December 27?
It looked like all was set, but on December 13, but the burial didn't take place, and was postponed to December 27.
According to a Facebook post by Meru Daily, the burial was pushed forward because their land was sold.
"The delay has unearthed shocking details beyond the financial difficulties earlier cited by the family. It has now emerged that the family has no burial site, as the land they live on was sold at an unknown date, and the title deed is in the custody of the buyer," read the Facebook post.
"However, the recent discovery sheds new light on tjhe delays, pointing to the complexities surrounding their living situation and the land dispute," read another part.
TUKO.co.ke contacted Sniper's widow, Irene, to confirm the matter, but she was unwilling to talk about it.
Sniper was strangled to death
Another story revealed that a postmortem examination showed that Meru Blogger Daniel Muthiani, known as Sniper, was strangled to death.
Government pathologist Johansen Oduor confirmed Sniper had marks on his neck and showed signs of oxygen deprivation.
He said Sniper had fractured ribs and head injuries, suggesting he was strangled before being thrown into a river.
DNA samples were taken to confirm the identity of the decomposed body, and the family expressed satisfaction with the postmortem process.
