How did Footprints of Hope start?
At only 30, Dora passed away in the early hours of the morning and Lusaka Times reports that her death may have been caused by witchcraft.
Initially, Dora had adopted 16 children and was fostering three. However, when she moved to Mpapa she was confronted with a staggering number of children who coulfn't access education because of biting poverty.
How much did Dora get from TukTik?
The trained teacher started Footprints of Hope with makeshift classes under a tree and the turning point for her came when she started documenting her journey on TikTok.
Her account garnered over four million followers and and through the power of social media, she raised raised over $450,000). With the money, Dora expanded her school, built classrooms, provided food, and offered shelter to the children.
At the time of her death, Dora had helped over 500 children and employed 35 staff members to help with running the school.
Did Dora die from witchcraft?
Unfounded rumours suggest that Dora?s death may have been the result of witchcraft. Despite the claims, the fact remains that Dorawas a generous and compassionate person, who chose a life bigger than her.
A post on her wall showed that Dora was okay on Christmas d=Day but that night she git sick and drove herself to the hospital, where she died.
Opposition from villages
In another story, it was revealed that despite Dora's efforts being noble, she faced stiff opposition from villagers.
Accoriding to Dora, when she started to adopt, people said it was impossible because of her age and being unmarried.
It turned out that they were wrong and she went on to become a proud adoptive mother of 12 and fostering three.
