Did Subaru beat miraa vehicles?
The pickup trucks, mostly modified Toyota Hilux, are known for their high speeds along the highways while transporting the perishable crop.
@kid_da_champ, who drives a blue Subaru Forester, was challenged on TikTok to take on the transporters to see who's faster.
He accepted the challenge and posted a video racing against miraa drivers along the Thika Super Highway.
The driver sped past one pickup truck as his turbo spooled before quickly overtaking another. It was unclear whether his speed was within the limits.
"You told me I will be shown dust by these miraa vehicles, but no. Now I need to race a plane," he wrote.
The video started an online debate, with some saying that the miraa drivers were unaware they were racing.

What caused matatu, boda boda accident?
In other news, a video captured along a road showed a young boda boda rider carrying a female passenger.
Their compatriots on another bike filmed them, and the rider started swerving all over the road.
He did not see a matatu overtaking them, and the vehicle struck them, with many saying the accident was avoidable.
