The most heartbreaking photo of the day was that of her crestfallen daughter standing beside her casket.

Many felt sorry for the young orphan, who has to bear the difficult loss at a time when she is in Form Four, preparing for her exams.

A wave of sorrow swept through the small village of Chebewor in Kipkelion East Constituency, Kericho County, as family, friends, and mourners gathered to lay Ivy Chepngetich to rest.

The most heart-wrenching sight of the day was her daughter standing silently by her mother?s casket, now left orphaned and grappling with an unimaginable loss.

According to Mutai Mtandao, the young girl is a Form Four student at Ndanai Girls Secondary School in Sotik, Bomet County.

The emotional burial ceremony drew outpourings of grief and compassion from across the country as Kenyans rallied online to send their condolences and prayers to the student.

Ivy Chepngetich?s death has not only left a gaping hole in her daughter's life but has also touched the hearts of many Kenyans.

Social media has been awash with messages of support and encouragement, with many moved by the image of the student, holding on to the final moments with her late mother.

Many called for support systems to ensure that the young girl?s education and emotional well-being are safeguarded.

"May the Lord comfort her in this very painful season and send destiny helpers her way in Jesus' name," wrote Ann Nganga.

"May God bless her, orphans belong to God. He knows pretty well why all these happen. He will surely take care of her. Only ask her to be humble and seek God," shared Richard Mosoongo.

"Baby girl, God is there for you and will provide for you always. Take heart and feel comforted," said Onesmus Mutinda Mukwate.

"No child is supposed to go through this pain at this early age. May God give her comfort," wrote Evallunah Shivachi.

As she begins this painful journey without both parents, the nation stands in solidarity with her. May she find strength, hope, and comfort in the days ahead.
