The two football legends are considered by many fans to be the greatest of all time (GOAT). The term "GOAT" stands for "Greatest of All Time" and is used to describe someone who is the most successful and accomplished in their field ? in this case, football.

The most intense battles between Messi and Ronaldo took place during their time in the Spanish La Liga.

They faced each other often when Ronaldo played for Real Madrid and Messi for Barcelona, creating one of football?s greatest rivalries.

However, the rivalry between the two cooled down after Ronaldo left Real Madrid and joined Italian Serie A giants Juventus in 2018.

The outcome of such encounters

The history between the two clubs, led by Messi and Ronaldo, wouldn?t be the same without their fierce rivalry and the wins and losses they shared.

In the matches they played against each other, Messi and Barcelona won 16 times, Ronaldo won 11 times, and 9 games ended in a draw.

Messi and Ronaldo could play together for the first time

Messi, now 37, and Ronaldo, who will turn 42 in 2026, last faced each other in January 2023 in a match between Riyadh All Stars and PSG.

After a long break from meeting on the pitch since leaving Spain, the game gave them a chance to renew their famous rivalry.

As expected, Messi scored, and Ronaldo netted twice, but PSG won the match 5-4 against Riyadh All Stars.

After that match, Messi went on to sign for Inter Miami in the MLS, while Ronaldo joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.

However, it has now emerged that Messi and Ronaldo might reunite and even play on the same team in the near future.

As reported by ESPN, former Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez wants Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to take part in his farewell match in Buenos Aires.

In an interview with OLGA, Tevez mentioned that he is likely to have a farewell game, but said they are still working out the details, adding that it's not an easy task to have the two on board.

"Yes, I'm going to do it [farewell game],? Tevez told OLGA. ?I probably will do it. We just have to figure out when. It's not easy."

?Leo Messi, Cristiano... we?re going to bring them,? Tevez said. ?If I have to, I?ll go get them myself. I already have them saved in my WhatsApp.?
