Ali Kiba has addressed his much-publicised split from Amina Khalef after their fancy weddings in Kenya and Tanzania

Tanzanian music crooner Ali Kiba has spoken for the first time about his publicised divorce with Amina Khalef, a Kenyan citizen.

The two walked down the aisle in 2018 in celebrations that cost an arm and a leg as they held two weddings, one in Mombasa and the other in Dar es Salaam.

However, cracks started appearing in their union, with Amina filing for divorce in 2022 and asking for KSh 200,000 monthly upkeep. She cited negligence as the grounds for the divorce.

The Kenyan beauty, who kept a low profile, broke her silence after seemingly being frustrated by Kiba.

In a series of long Instagram posts, Amina accused Kiba of delaying signing divorce papers, saying that she needed to be free.

In a recent interview, Kiba confirmed that they had parted ways.

?I wrapped up things with my ex-wife amicably,? he said.

Kiba noted that the separation was amicable, and they had moved on.

A man seated next to him said that the singer must be dating, and he confirmed it. A journalist asked about the woman Kiba was dating, but he would not share details.

Why did Amina Khalef threaten Diamond Platnumz?

In 2023, Amina threatened legal action against Kiba?s musical rival, Diamond Platnumz, over a social media post she claimed was defamatory.

Acting through her legal team, Amina sent Diamond a demand letter insisting on a public apology and the retraction of alleged false and malicious statements.

Her lawyers stated that the claims implied a questionable relationship between Amina and Diamond, which they firmly denied. The letter demanded that Diamond comply within seven days, failing which legal action, both civil and criminal, would be initiated, with him bearing all associated costs.

Amina insisted the accusations had harmed her reputation and were entirely baseless.

In response, Diamond, through his lawyer, stated that the ?Amina? mentioned in his post was not Kiba?s estranged wife, distancing himself from the claims.
