Why did Justin Muturi's photo confuse Kenyans?

In a Friday, April 18 post, Muturi extended heartfelt wishes to Kenyans countrywide.

"Easter is a time of deep reflection and renewed hope. It reminds us of the power of love, sacrifice and the assurance of new beginnings."

He shared a Bible verse, Luke 24:6, speaking of Jesus's resurrection.

"May this season inspire us to walk in unity, serve one another with humility and work towards a more compassionate and prosperous Kenya."

The graphics shared showed Muturi in the clouds, with a cross at the back.

Numerous Kenyans asked the politician to fire his graphic designer, as the image could easily be misinterpreted.

Here are some of the comments:

@janetmachuka_:

?This graphic designer should be found. Anyway, what could?ve been done better? Use warmer, brighter colours like light yellows, gold, soft pastels, and light green. Clouds with a blue cross suggest mourning. Use sunrise or blooming flowers. Try an easy-to-read headline that stands out. Try ?Happy Easter? or ?Easter Blessings? at the top in warm, celebratory colours. Please avoid the cloud effect at the base of his photo.?

@UDAPartyKe:

?For a second there, I couldn?t tell if that was an Easter graphic or a eulogy.?

@sammyirush:

?Hello, sir... For the love I have for you, I offered to do your online posters for free. Please feel free to reach out.?

@VinieO:

?Artwork? Looks like an obituary.?

@Msvenus__:

?If you don?t have the budget for a graphic designer, use Canva.?

@Mosabed1:

?This is not good graphically. Sends the wrong impression at first glance! Get another graphic designer!?

@lilianw19830183:

?Who designed this poster for you??

@GnosticGod:

?My first thought was that this was an obituary.?

Ruheni Bin Githuka:

"Graphic designer failed you by design. Thought of a departed soul in heavenly realms!"

@harryhoke13:

?We loved you, but... ooh, sorry, this is about Easter? I thought it was something else!?
