This was after its licence was suspended in March by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), which cited, among others, the unroadworthiness of the operator's fleet of vehicles.

"Super Metro is thrilled to announce that we have successfully met and surpassed all the compliance requirements set by NTSA and TLAB . Following a thorough review, we have been officially cleared to resume operations, effective today," said the PSV operator in a press release which was seen by TUKO.co.ke.

The PSV sacco said that its staff had been working tirelessly in the last three days to address all directives, ensuring that its service meets the highest set safety standards and regulatory requirements.

The firm expressed its gratitude to its customers, stakeholders and regulatory authorities for their patience and support during the period their operations were grounded by the regulator.

It said in the statement that they it is committed to maintaining full compliance and delivering exceptional services as they get back on the road.

"We are excited to once again see the people of Kenya , providing safe and efficient transport solutions to communities across the region," said the PSV operator.

Why Super Metro bus firm suspended operations

The operator was ordered by the transport regulators to temporarily stop operating in Nairobi because it was using unroadworthy vehicles.

Some of its drivers were also unfit to drive the vehicles, according to an analysis that was done by the regulator.

But the operator objected applied fines and appealed against the decision by the transport regulator to ground its vehicles at TLAB.

Early this week, TLAB ordered Super Metro to suspend operations to comply with the directives issued by the NTSA.
